Exterior cleaning in Motherwell: gutters and pebbledash, cleaned sooner
A large share of Motherwell's houses are pebbledash and roughcast semis, and the dust from the old industrial corridor along the M74 settles on render and glass faster than in rural homes nearby. That is why render cleaning and gutter clearing make up most of our work here.
Pebbledash cannot be blasted clean without loosening stones, so we use a biocide soft-wash and a gentle rinse. Gutters on these houses are often plastic and sagging under the weight of silt; we clear them, flush the downpipes and point out any brackets that have failed. Driveway pressure washing on the newer estates is the third regular job.
Glass is the other thing the corridor dust affects. Windows on the main-road side of a house can look grey within weeks of a clean, so a lot of Motherwell customers pair a render wash with our pure water-fed pole window clean, which leaves no residue for the dust to stick to. On the newer estates, where render is usually a modern through-coloured finish rather than dash, the same low-pressure approach applies and we check the manufacturer's guidance before starting.
