Typical 2026 prices
Small block-paved drive (1 car, ~25m²): £120–£180. Medium drive (2 cars, ~50m²): £180–£280. Large drive (3+ cars or in/out): £280–£450.
Tarmac is usually £20–£40 cheaper than block at the same size — there are no joints to re-sand. Imprinted concrete sits between the two.
Most reputable cleaners include re-sanding of joints in the price for block paving. If a quote excludes it, expect the joints to wash out and weeds to return within months.
What pushes the price up
Heavy moss and weeds — these add a pre-treatment step. Add £30–£60.
Oil and tyre staining — degreasing pre-wash. Add £30–£80.
Awkward access — narrow side passages or no nearby outside tap. Add £20–£50.
Sealing afterwards — a proper sealer is £4–£8 per m² on top of the clean. Worth it on imprinted concrete, optional on block.
Red flags in a cheap quote
Per-hour pricing instead of per-job — the job stretches to fill the hours.
No mention of re-sanding on block paving.
No public liability insurance certificate offered.
Promises to use 'high pressure' — modern rotary surface cleaners are gentler and far more even than handheld lances.
