Exterior cleaning in Newton Mearns: render-safe cleaning for k-rend and silicone render
Newton Mearns has one of the biggest concentrations of white silicone and K-Rend houses in Scotland, sitting high on an exposed edge where north walls green quickly. Most of our work here is render cleaning, and doing it wrong can void the render warranty — high-pressure washing is the usual mistake.
Our method is a manufacturer-compliant biocide pre-soak, a proper dwell time, and a low-pressure wide-fan rinse, with a record of the method kept for the owner. Roof soft-washing, gutter clearing and window cleaning on the same houses make up the rest, and combined render and roof visits are the most common booking.
Gutters here fill quickly with debris blown in off the open ground, and an overflowing gutter is one of the main causes of the streaks we are later asked to clean off the render. That is why many owners book a gutter clear alongside the render wash. Windows are cleaned with pure water-fed poles, which matters on white render houses, because the run-off from a detergent window clean can leave marks on the wall below.
